LEATHER HALF CASES for LEICA M-D (TYP 262) AND ALSO FOR M-P M-A TYP 127 M3 M4 M7
Our leathers, our work: each our leather is worked by tannery for us following our requests, using the same traditional methods for hundreds years (all vegetable tanned, no chemicals at all).
Our leather is very thick (up to 3) and was received by natural ageing process to fit Leica owners' taste.
Our case are Hand made by some of the most skilled italian artisans with more then 30 years of experience in this field.
The inner finishing is done with an extra soft high quality porpora red suede leather(exept the camouflage who has a grey/green vintage smooth leather inner finishing).
Each case is unique, there arent 2 identic cases couse eache leather is unique, the aging process (also hand done) its different on each case (so some case could be more homogenous, some will have some streaks, tonality could be
different also). This is not a defect, but the result a of a long hand made hand work, we dont produce hundreds of "identical copies" like in a industrial process.
Vegetable Tanned Leather:
This type of natural tanning proess uses tannin extracted from plants (mimosa, chestnut, quebracho, tara, etc etc). Vegetable tannage is a very old procedure dating back to prehistoric period, a very slow process wich is considered an art. The formulas used by each Tuscan tannery is a well kept secret, a result of a careful blending of Tuscan culture and knowledge, passed down through the years from father to son.
Each skin is unique: this uniqueness means that it does not have a uniform apperance, which represents the leather quality. THe exclusive material is subject to the same wear as the person who use our half cases, the skin will gradually acquires that worn look who every person get with the life.
